The check-in point is located at Kankaisten Kauppatie 2, Masku. Direction signs will begin from Highway 8.

On Saturday, 11 July 2026, fire brigades are expected to arrive according to the following schedule:

09:00–10:00 Turku, Vakka-Suomi
10:00–11:00 Salo, Rauma, Auranmaa
11:00–12:00 KaSaSa, Pori, PoSa
12:00–13:00 Häme
13:00–14:30 Helpe, UPL
14:30–16:00 FSB, Kaspeli

Fire brigades arriving from other regional federations may arrive at camp between 09:00 and 16:00. Host fire brigades for international guests will arrive at the same time as their visiting fire brigades.

All fire brigades must enter the camp through the check-in point. We kindly ask you to follow the arrival time assigned to your region in order to avoid unnecessary congestion. At the check-in point, fire brigade registration will be completed and camp wristbands and arrival packages will be distributed.

The designated representative of the fire brigade must report to the check-in point and is responsible for checking in the entire fire brigade. During check-in, the participant list will be reviewed and any last-minute changes to participant information must be reported. If individuals who have not registered in advance arrive at the check-in point, they will be directed through a separate process.

Upon check-in, each fire brigade will receive an arrival package containing camp wristbands, T-shirts, the camp handbook, and the fire brigade participant list. The participant list includes each camper’s name, course or department, T-shirt size, and wristband number. Wristbands have been assigned to participants in advance based on their unique identification codes.

Camp wristbands will be attached at the first checkpoint of the safety walk, which is located at the camp information point.

Frequently Asked Questions and Important Notes for Arrival Day

TRAINING EQUIPMENT BROUGHT BY THE FIRE BRIGADE

If your fire brigade is bringing training equipment for use at the camp, please pack it so that it can be unloaded easily. The equipment may need to be handed over before participants disembark from the vehicles.

CARAVANS AT THE CAMP

Any caravan pitches must be paid for at the camp canteen. There you will also receive a caravan permit tag, which must be displayed on the caravan.

MOVING TO THE CAMP AREA

At the check-in point, you will receive instructions for proceeding to the main camp area. You will also be informed of the designated location for caravans. The camp area is located approximately 3 kilometres from the check-in point.

CAMPER ACCOMMODATION

Fire brigade vehicles will be unloaded at the edge of the tent area. Any trailer will be attached to an ATV designated by the camp organisers, which will transport the equipment to the assigned accommodation area. The organisers also have a limited number of carts available for fire brigades that otherwise have no means of transporting their equipment.

Once accommodation has been completed, it is time to distribute camp wristbands and proceed to the safety walk.

FIRE BRIGADE VEHICLES

At the edge of the tent area, trailers will be detached and participants will proceed to the accommodation area with their equipment. One of the fire brigade instructors will then immediately drive the vehicle to its next destination.

There are three options:

1. Long-term vehicle parking. This parking area is located next to the check-in point. Drivers of crew vehicles will be provided with transportation back to the tent area.

2. The fire brigade vehicle is made available for camp use. Driving instructions will be provided during check-in. The vehicle will remain in the vicinity of the camp area.

3. The vehicle returns home

COMPLETING THE SAFETY WALK

After settling into the accommodation area, the first task is to participate in the safety walk. Camp wristbands will be attached at the first checkpoint of the route. Once the safety walk has been completed, camp activities will continue according to the normal daily programme. Please note that the safety walk must be completed by 18:30 on the arrival day.

Tent Set-up and Fire Safety

The tent area consists of soft ground, and the use of tent pegs is therefore recommended whenever the tent design allows. When setting up tents, the manufacturer’s instructions regarding weights, supervision, and other safety requirements must always be followed as the primary guideline.

All tents must be secured to the ground using either ballast weights or tent pegs. The camp safety team will inspect tents during set-up and fire safety inspections, as well as through spot checks during the camp. Additional securing requirements may be imposed if weather conditions or other circumstances require them.

Tent pegs and guy lines must be clearly marked to prevent accidents.

BASIC GUIDELINES FOR TENT SET-UP

If the building supervision authority has not issued any specific instructions or regulations, and no instructions prepared by the manufacturer or designer are available, the following recommendations apply to the erection of tents up to 300 m² in size:

  • The frame components shall be connected using lockable connectors.
  • The stability of a tent is affected by factors such as its structure, height, and shape. When using ballast weights, each corner of a small tent should be equipped with at least the following weights: a 2 × 2 m tent requires 15 kg per leg, a 4 × 4 m tent 62 kg per leg, a 5 × 5 m tent 96 kg per leg, and a 6 × 6 m tent 139 kg per leg. These minimum weights apply to tents equipped with a roof canopy and in wind conditions of up to 15 metres per second. In stronger winds, the roof canopy must be removed or additional ballast added.
  • Tents shall be secured to ground anchors or ballast weights using ratchet straps with a minimum tensile strength of 1,000 kg. Ropes or similar fastening methods are not considered reliable.
  • Tents secured in accordance with these guidelines may still fail to remain secured during severe storms. In such cases, the procedures specified in the emergency and rescue plan shall be followed.
  • In the event of severe weather or when wind speeds exceed 15 metres per second, tent anchoring shall be reinforced or the use of the tents discontinued. People must be directed away from the vicinity of the tents, and the tents shall be dismantled if possible. If the manufacturer has provided different instructions, those instructions shall be followed.

If necessary, additional information can be found via the links below:

HEATING OF TENTS

Every accommodation tent must be equipped with an appropriate warning device suitable for the heating method used, as well as first-response firefighting equipment. When using heating equipment, the manufacturer’s instructions must always be followed. Any use contrary to these instructions is strictly prohibited. It is recommended that the operating instructions be brought to the camp.

Fire brigades are responsible for ensuring that all heating equipment brought to the camp has been properly maintained and is in good working order. Whenever heating equipment such as gas heaters or stoves is used, a spark watch must always be present. The surface beneath and in front of the heater must be made of non-combustible material.

Warning devices and firefighting equipment will be inspected, and permission to use heating equipment will only be granted after a successful inspection. The camp safety team will monitor compliance throughout the camp.

Spare gas cylinders and fuel may not be stored in the tent area. The camp provides a gas cylinder sales and exchange service, and several exchange points are located near the camp area. Therefore, bringing spare cylinders is unnecessary.
